When does the Longhorn Run take place?
Longhorn Run 2018 will take place on Saturday, April 14, 2018.
What are the start times?
The 10K race is set to begin at 8:00AM followed by the 5K at 8:15AM.
Please note that this year we will be doing wave starts for each race; because timing results are based on chip time, this will not affect your overall results.
Where does the race start and end?
The race starts just west of 21st. Street and Speedway at The University of Texas at Austin. The race ends at the same location followed by a post-race celebration at the steps of the UT Tower.
10K runners will need to line up on 21st Street.
5K runners will be asked to line up on Speedway.
There will be plenty of signage and volunteers on race day to help point you in the right direction.

Where can I park?
Self-pay parking is available at UT parking garages. We recommend parking at San Antonio Parking Garage, Manor Garage ,or Trinity Garage as they will not be affected by street closures.
We encourage runners to carpool, walk, or take advantage of ride-share services. UT students riding UBER for the first time can use promo code Longhorns17 to receive a discount on their ride. If you're being dropped off, the closest drop off points are as follows: 21st Street and Guadalupe St., Congress and MLK, and 24th and Guadalupe.
When should I arrive on race day?
We encourage you to be at the start line by no later than 7:30am, late starts will not be allowed and you won't want to miss our pre-race entertainment.
What is the registration fee?
10K fee: $35
5K fee: $30
Virtual runners: $30
What does registration include?
The 10K and 5K registration includes a tech mesh athlete shirt, timed race entry, and access to the post-race celebration.
What is your refund policy?
The Longhorn Run has a no refund policy. We're happy to change your registration to a virtual runner packet or transfer your registration to another runner. Transfers must be completed by Monday, April 9.
When is the last day to register?
Registration closes on Friday, April 13 at 6:00PM.
I can't make it on race day, but would love to support this UT tradition. How do I get involved?
We would love for you to put your horns up and run from wherever you are on April 14, 2018. Select the registration option "Virtual Run/Sleep In." The option to run digitally includes the 2018 shirt. On race day, go on a run and share your run on social media using #WeRunUT. You can pick up your shirt during Packet Pick Up or have it mailed to you. Please note that shirt delivery by April 14, 2018 is not guaranteed.

Is there an age requirement?
Everyone is welcome to participate in the Longhorn Run! Please keep in mind that shirts are available in adult sizes only and minors need parental supervision and approval.
I want to walk the race, is that allowed?
Absolutely, but we ask that you please register and participate in the 5K course.
Are strollers allowed?
Strollers will be allowed on race day, if you will have a stroller we encourage you to run with the pack or walk in the back.
Is the race dog-friendly?
You are welcome to bring your dog along on race day, we ask that your pet please remains on a leash and under your supervision at all times. We know you know this already, but please be kind and pick up after your dog.
May I run as a team?
You may create or join a team on the registration page. Please note that timing is done individually and there are no special perks available to teams. You can choose to join a team during registration or after you've already registered. Click here for instructions on how to join a team after you've already registered.
Are headphones allowed?
Sure thing! Please be mindful of your surrounding at all times, and follow instructions from race officials.
Who does the race benefit?
All proceeds from Longhorn Run benefit The University of Texas at Austin Student Government (SG) and Recreational Sports Excellence Funds. Resources from the SG Excellence Fund are meant to equip student groups with the tools to advance current projects or ideas, while promoting the ideals of giving and a spirit of service on the UT campus. The Recreational Sports Excellence Fund is focused on placing resources where they are most immediately needed to ensure that UT students have access to the highest quality recreational program in the nation.

Will bag check be offered?
Bag check will not be available. Please only bring items that you can run with. Longhorn Run is not responsible for any lost items. If you are a current UT student or RecSports member, a limited number of day-use lockers will be available inside Gregory Gym, just make sure to bring a quarter or your own lock.
How many water stations will be available on the course?
(4) Water stations will be available in the 10K course.
Approximate locations: Speedway and Dean Keeton, 38th and Speedway (water stations located on both directions: northbound and southbound), 23rd Street Roundabout.

Will there be pace groups?
Yes! Members from Texas Running Club will be serving as this year's pacers.
Pace groups will be available as follows for the 5K and 10K: 7:00min, 7:30min, 8:00min, 8:30min, 9:00min, 9:30min, 10:00min, 10:30min, 11:00min, 11:30min, 12:00min.
What happens if it rains?
Weather conditions are being closely monitored. The event is on rain or shine and will only be cancelled if weather conditions make it dangerous to be outside. The safety of our participants is our top priority. Any changes will be communicated via email and official event social media accounts.
