About LHR Ambassadors

Applications for the 2025 LHR Ambassador Program are NOW CLOSED.
​The Longhorn Run Ambassador program is focused on supporting Longhorn Run as a campus tradition. This program seeks to involve students from across the UT campus to assist the LHR 2025 student committee with outreach and promotional efforts for this year's in person race. Ambassadors serve a critical role in increasing awareness of Longhorn Run throughout the UT community and beyond.

Commitment & ResponsIbilties 

WHY YOU'LL LOVE BEING AN AMBASSADOR:
  • Get a Free Race Registration: Participate in Longhorn Run 2025 on Saturday, April 12th, and enjoy complimentary race registration just for being an ambassador.
  • Be a Part of the Kick-Off Excitement: Help us at the Registration Kick-Off event on January 22nd and be at the heart of the action.
  • Engage in Exciting Meetings: Join us for 5 in-person meetings filled with fun and planning between December and race day. Our first gathering is on Wednesday, December 6th at 6pm.
  • Join Fun Training Events: Participate in all the Longhorn Run training events and get in shape with fellow ambassadors.
  • Volunteer and Connect: Give back by volunteering at least 4 hours during Packet Pick-Up Week (April 7-11) and connect with the running community.
  • Spread the Word: From January through April, engage in exciting outreach and promotional activities. Table on campus, reach out to student organizations, professors, and more.
  • Be a Campus Presence: Dedicate at least 2 hours each week to tabling during registration season and spread the buzz about the run.
  • Build Your Own Team: Recruit at least 10 runners for your own ambassador team and lead them to victory on race day.
  • Shine on Social Media: Share Longhorn Run initiatives and race day updates on your personal social media and be the voice of the event.
  • Create Awesome Content: Collaborate with our Communications team to produce engaging video content for the Longhorn Run Instagram.​
  • Innovate and Inspire: Work with fellow ambassadors and committee members to create unique and inspiring outreach efforts.

 frequently asked questions

Why should I participate in the ambassador program?
In addition to joining an awesome team of ambassadors and serving as a leader on campus, selected ambassadors will receive complimentary race registration and other perks along the way. ​
​How big of a time commitment is the program?
Ambassadors will be asked to attend 5 meetings (1 in the fall and 4 in the spring semester), participate in 4 Longhorn Run training events, volunteer at least 4 hours during packet-pick-up week and participate in Longhorn Run 2024. Outside of these commitments, there will be various outreach-related items that you will be asked to assist with such as tabling. ​
