TRAFFIC AND CLOSURES
The Longhorn Run 2024 will take place on Saturday, April 13 starting at 8:00AM at The University of Texas at Austin just West of 21st. Street and Speedway. The race will end by 10:00AM at the same location, followed by a post-race celebration at the steps of the UT Tower. The race features two courses, a 10K (starts at 8:00AM) and 5K (starts at 8:15AM).
Not all roads on the course will experience a full closure.
The following City of Austin streets will experience a full closure:
The closures will begin roughly at 7:30am and each street will re-open as soon as the last runner passes the area.
No Parking Zones:
The following segments of city streets will be "no parking" zones from about 7:30am until the last runner passes the area.
The following streets on the UT campus will experience full closures:
Alternative northbound and southbound routes are available via Guadalupe St., Lamar Blvd, and Duval St.
We anticipate the majority of streets will be completely reopened by 10:00am. We will be working closely with Austin Police Department and The University of Texas Police Department to open streets as soon as possible as well as provide alternative entry points for residences and businesses on the course.
